Expert introduction

2006--Zhang, Shuming

Prof. Zhang, Shuming, male, born in 1970, is a supervisor of Ph.D. students. He graduated from Northeastern University and received his Ph.D. degree in engineering. He serves as the Deputy Director of Beijing Aircraft Strength Institute, CAAMS. In 2010, he was awarded the high-level S&T expert of China National Machinery Industry Corporation. He was selected as the state candidate of New Century Ten Million Talents Project in 2004, and granted with the Special Government Allowance from the State Council in 2006. In addition, he is the Board Member of Beijing Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, the Director of Opening Laboratory of National Machinery Industry Structure Safety and Reliability, and the member of Basic Technology Branch of Chinese Society for Agricultural Machinery.

He mainly engaged in the works about computational mechanics, structural reliability, life prediction, digital design, structure static/dynamic numerical simulation and motion simulation analysis, as well as the testing of load spectrum/environmental spectrum and research of application technology related to reliability for life. He has chaired and participated in more than 20 scientific research projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and so on, accumulated rich experiences in engineering practice, with many innovative achievements, which have been used in the life assessment and reliability design of a variety of large power mechanical structure, achieving good economic and social benefits. He has won Second Prizes of Award for Scientific and Technological Progress at ministerial level for two times, two First Prizes and one Second Prize at ministerial level, published over 40 papers, obtained 6 national invention patents and 3 software copyrights.
