1996--Hou, Qingzhong

Prof. Hou, Qingzhong, born in 1949, graduated from the Department of Agricultural Machinery of Jilin University of Technology (now Jilin University) in Agricultural Machinery Design and Manufacturing in 1975 and started to work in Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Sciences (CAAMS) in the same year. He has been the Deputy Director, Director of Institute of Tillage and Planting Machinery of CAAMS, Vice President, Deputy Chief Engineer of CAAMS, and has been granted with the Special Government Allowance of the State Council since 1996.

He has been engaged in the research and development of plant protection machinery technology and its new products, and he was engaged in the management work of CAAMS from 1996 to 2001. He has presided over or participated in over 10 research projects of ministries, including Development of New MB Low Pressure Piston Diaphragm Pumps, Development of New 3WF650 Duplex Operating Sprayer, and Development of New Knapsack Spray Duster, which were widely promoted and applied and for which he was awarded prizes of ministerial level. Since 2006, he took part in five projects issued by the Machinery Development Fund Committee such as Research on Tax Policy on Key Agricultural Machinery Enterprises, “Research on the Development Status of Small Agricultural Construction Machinery and Industry Management, and “Research on the Status and Countermeasures of China's Agricultural Machinery Energy Saving and Emission Reduction”, providing profound information for relevant departments to formulate policies. He has received one National Science and Technology Progress Prize, three Second Prizes and three Third Prizes for Scientific and Technological Progress of Ministry of Machinery Industry, four utility model patents, and published over 10 papers in domestic professional magazines or academic meetings.
