Wang Bo met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia and his visiting delegation

On July 28, 2017, Wang Bo met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia H.E. Mr. Seyoum Mesfin Gebredingle, and his visiting delegation at Jianguo Hotel of Beijing.

Wang Bo expressed warmest welcome to the arrival of the ambassador of Ethiopia. Later on, they had in-depth discussions on the implementation and extension of agricultural mechanization of teff jointly implemented by China and Ethiopia with the financial support from Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. They also exchanged views on developing agricultural mechanization under the framework of China-Ethiopia cooperation and multi-lateral cooperation with international organizations, and reached consensus on the whole process industrial operation from agricultural machinery development and trading to agricultural machinery production and assembly, promotion and services. Wang Bo expressed that, CAAMS and Ethiopia established a sound basis for cooperation through many years' close communicaton, therefore, we intend to promote mechanized production of teff in Ethiopia and even the mechanization of main crops in the country to fundamentally solve the problem of food security and livelihood security of Ethiopia.

The ambassador expressed his heartfelt thanks to the contributions of the teff mechanization project. He pointed out that, agriculture was the pillar of Ethiopian economy, and R&D of teff mechanization and production promotion can help the majority of Ethiopian farmers solve the basic survival problems, so it was essential to the development of agriculture in Ethiopian. His Excellency said that he would actively coordinate with related government departments in China to obtain a favorable local policy environment and necessary financial and human resources support for the smooth implementation of the project and follow-up application and promotion, and wished CAAMS to improve the adaptability, stability and operability of improved machinery of teff production for local farmers through prototype testing and promotion.

Lei Yuchun, Vice President of CAAMS; Wang Hua, Director of International Cooperation Department and Yu Baomin, General Manager of China National Packaging and Food Machinery Corporation also attended the event.
