Mr. Wang Bo attends the Roundtable on Investment Opportunities in Nepal

The Roundtable on Investment Opportunities in Nepal was held on March 27th, 2017 at the Diaoyutai State Guest House in Beijing. The meeting was co-sponsored by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and China Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC). Prachanda, the Prime Minister of Nepal, Mr. Jiang Zengwei, the chairman of CCPIT attended the meeting and delivered speech. Mr. Wang Bo, the President of CAAMS, was invited as a business representative to attend the meeting. Ms. Wang Hua, the Director of International Cooperation and Public Relations Department also attended the meeting.

Mr Jiang Zengwei said that the relationship between China and Nepal has been further developed and the bilateral trade has increased by 7 times in recent years. Both sides should take ‘the Belt and Road’ building opportunity to promote the bilateral trade and investment. To promote the economic cooperation between China and Nepal, and achieve mutually beneficial and win-win development, CCPIT would be willing to work together with relevant sectors of Nepal to build more platforms.

Prime Minister Prachanda pointed out that China has already become the largest investor and the second largest trading partner in Nepal. Nepal government welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest on water conservancy and hydropower, infrastructure construction, tourism and other fields in Nepal. Nepal government would like to learn from the experience of China's agricultural modernization development to help Nepal to promote the development of domestic economic and the improvement of people's livelihood, so as to achieve the mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation with China as well as other Southeast Asian countries.

Mr Wang Bo delivered a brief introduction of the development of CAAMS as well as the progress of the “Rural poverty reduction by dairy development in Nepal project". He also expressed his wishes to help solve the poverty problems in Nepal. Mr Wang’s speech got high attentions and all the participants agreed that this project can play an important role on helping promote people's livelihood in Nepal.
