Expert introduction

Doctoral Tutor--Zhang, Xiaochao

Prof. Zhang, Xiaochao, Ph.D. advisor, was born on 1957. He received his Engineering Ph.D. degree from China Agricultural University. He now serves as the deputy director and the chief engineer of Electrical and Mechanical Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Mechanization Sciences, and high-level technology expert of the National Machinery Group in 2010. In the addition, he serves as the member of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering, the member of Beijing Agricultural Informationization Society, and the member of the editorial board of the Journal of Agricultural Engineering.

He has been engaged in technology research, product development, as well as application and popularity of new technologies in the agricultural machinery intelligent equipment, with profound attainments in precision agriculture intelligent control and automatic detection technology of agricultural product quality. The projects he has assumed mainly include the “10th Five-Year” high-tech industrialization demonstration project for sets of grain storage control device of the State Planning Commission, the development and application of precision agriculture machinery equipment and technology of National Science and Technology Commission key research program, the automatic assessment system for grain quality of National Science and Technology Commission, the national 863 Program research and application of digital agriculture accurate production platform technology, the national 863 Program precision agriculture key technology and equipment development, the national 863 Program research and application of digital agriculture production platform technology, the State Science and Technology Commission performance testing system of precision agriculture variable operation equipment, and the locusts automatic detection and early warning system of State Science and Technology Commission, as well as during the “11th Five-Year” period, the National Science and Technology Support Program research and development of agricultural product quality testing and commercialization technology and equipment, the research on test and monitoring technology of agricultural equipment and other projects, National 863 Program research and development of precision agriculture intelligent variable operation equipment, the paddy field ultra-low altitude and ultra-low volume pesticide application technology research and equipment development and other projects. He has cultivated 15 Ph.D. and master candidates, got four provincial and ministerial awards of Science and Technology Progress, obtained five national invention patents, and published 108 academic papers.
